英検の学習をしていて、germs という英単語に出会いましたので、意味や使用のされ方を調べました。
調べると、germs は、germ の複数形で、細菌・病原菌という意味。
また、芽生え、兆し、根源、起源、幼芽、胚 といった意味もあります。

wheat germ oil とは
germ ＝細菌、病原菌 のイメージがつきましたが、
調べていると、wheat germ oil というのもあるようでした。細菌の食べ物・・・かと思いきや、小麦の胚芽から抽出して得られる植物油のことで、食用のほか、スキンケアにも使われるようです。
